On my old computer I had pictures of several Mini King tracks, four-lane. My machine crashed hard and I can not retrieve those pics.

I have found pics of a four-lane pinched King but does anyone have or know where there are pics of a four-lane Mini King non-pinched version? I think the footprint was something like 20 ft long by about 11 ft wide.

Thanks.

Marlon,

Google on the text string "Shorer mini-King" and you'll find some pics that I think are what you want.

Thanks, Cheater, but all I found there were two drawings of what appeared to be (to my limited vision) pinched versions. Maybe I am wrong and just could not see them well enough.

I was rushing to check out of the hotel when I posted that and now that I look again, Eddie Shorer's track does seem 'pinched' and smaller than the size you listed.

Track down Bob Scott on Facebook or the Interweb. He has pics of a non-pinched version I think.

Bob is a long-time member here and would respond to a PM, I'm betting.

Although he's running slot raceway stand at the Maricopa Fair in CA this week, I recall...

Mine is indeed pinched:  http://www.shorer.co...la_Raceway.html   It's 18x8.

The above are three mini pinched kings I have done other than Eddies, which was #1. Eddies is 8x18' I think. The bottom one was #2 and is at the Boys Ranch near Frank's Slot Car Raceway. It was about 12x24. The reverse blue one is in a private foundation in Pasadena (12x25) and the green one is in a house in Utah (8x19').

Bob, Is it possible to build a non pinched mini king? Is it harder to do? I had a full size pinched king before and it was OK but I would much rather not have the deadman over the main straight. What are the pros and cons? Thanks Maybe my memory is failing but I thought I had a picture of a non pinched mini king.

Yes a non pinched mini king can be done and a bit easier than doing the pinch. I only pinch it because that's my preference to make a smaller footprint. Dropping the finger over the main straight is a no brainier since your punched anyway and smaller tracks make for less speed which lessens possible carnage underneath.
