Do you think the USRA Div 2 Nationals had an affect on attendance?

Great job by Tracy on hosting this event the live feed was good. Thanks to Greg for keeping us all updated on here and congrats to the winners

The track looked awesome and fast. Hoping to get down there one day for a race.

Had a great time, great bunch of guys to race with. Tracy made an awesome event out of it; the money made no difference. Everyone had a great time regardless of not winning.

I thought it could get ugly as some big races do, but no it did not.

Congrats, Tracy, on a great show...

Fair warning to all...

When I get time (soon), I'm going to split this thread in two. One thread will be the race announcement and pre-race chit-chat and the other will be the race report, which will then be 'filed' in the SlotCars-R-Us subforum.

Done. Race report and results now occupy their own thread, as is usually done.

The Div 2 Nats are in Washington State. Hard to imagine any great drain on this event.

Congratulations to all the podium finishers and to the raceway for a nice live feed.

Why does Tracy have that strange gaze in his eyes? Is it the money changing hands? LOL.

Maybe because only 30 entries.

I asked Tracy why he looked so evil in the podium pics.

His reply was, "That's because I am evil." LOL.

Greg's the guy in the middle looking for his car. "But Greg, you didn't bring any slot cars" You get a little more forgetful as you age...

True about the forgetful part, but inaccurate in regards to looking for my car.

That's just what big-race marshaling at maximum concentration looks like. Thank goodness the heats were only three minutes long...

I alternated working that corner with noted local 1:1 racer Nicky Formosa and wouldn't you know it, I didn't have to re-slot a single car in four heats!

Anymore if I marshal like that for long with no activity I go to sleep.

I would like to thank the volunteer marshals that stepped up to help out in the F1 main, your help was greatly appreciated.

I have to say that it was very disappointing watching a couple guys that didn't make the move-up pack up and leave instead of staying to marshal like they were supposed to.

Very poor sportsmanship.

Maybe that's what good racers, driving well set-up cars, on swoopy tracks will do. Is that good for racing or not so good?

Maybe they've seen Greg marshal before... and didn't want to take any chances LOL.

Depends on what the goal is, Phil. To me, increasing participation in the hobby should be the primary aim.

High level racing is not unlike eating a hoagie while riding a unicycle. It's very cool (and satisfying) when you can do it well.
