Proud to drive an American car, from an American manufacturer, assembled by American workers.
I own a car from each of the big three: I have a Ford, a Mercury, and a Lincoln.

Phil,
He could not avoid another car car that came into his lane and broke his guide and perhaps something else.

Why does Tracy have that strange gaze in his eyes? Is it the money changing hands? LOL.

Will there be shots of the chassis and sheets at some time?
You posted the photos as I was posting the question.
Thanks.

Eddie,
I only took pics of the podium cars so what you see is all that will be posted.
Do have a short video of the final Main that will be posted as soon as YouTube finishes processing it.

This was actually just a test of the video capabilities of my camera and it worked pretty well. Less than a minute in length.
This is the Can-Am final Main on Saturday.

I am very impressed with John, both as a racer and a person.
Wish we had a bunch more young racers like him in Retro...

Regardless, it isn't vintage racing, it's racing scratchbuilt cars.

Dennis,
Your assumption that modern Retro cars are "suppose[d] to mimic" some prior period of slot racing is misplaced, though many seem to want to apply that interpretation.
Referring to IRRA® Retro, the ruleset defines new and unique classes utilizing selected aspects of slot cars raced in the '60s and '70s, as well as more modern elements. As has been said many times, IRRA® Retro is not meant to replicate or mimic any types of slot cars that previously existed.
Obviously Retro cars are much faster than '60s and '70s unlimited slot cars for a number of reasons: better and faster tracks, better tires, far better magnets in today's cheap motors than could even be purchased in the early days, etc.
Trying to compare the slot cars that were raced four or five decades ago with modern Retro cars isn't IMO a very meaningful exercise.

Qualifying is now underway. This is the first F1 race ever held at The Track, which BTW celebrated its first full year of operation yesterday.
