Starting my second ever build. This car will be for my other team members (aka: 10yo & 11yo daughters) to share for now. We will eventually build our racing stable enough that everyone has a couple cars to run at least, but for now we do what we can afford which isn't much.

The girls agreed quickly on a 70 1/2 Camaro as the basis for their build. They picked some nice green Testors rattle bomb as well as some silver heavy flake and candy green to go over that, so we will be doing another 70s style candy flake panel paint job.

I picked up another Parma Edge chassis for them, along with a Pro Slot PS-2003 S16D motor. I got most of the small parts needed for their build except the wheels which were out of stock at the hobby shop, so we'll be ordering those online tonight along with a cowl hood.

We're working on coming up with a creative race team name also. Hopefully we can do some team shirts and stickers. I had hoped to get some work done on their build today, but I have Celiac disease and have been dealing with an accidental gluten poisoning today. So for now, you'll have to deal with one lousy picture of the model box top. I'll get some more progress done soon and update with plenty more pics.

Thanks for the interest in my first build guys. Hopefully this one will be even cooler and hope you dig it even more than the first.

Here is a shot of the style of paint we're going for.

Cowl hood came in today. So did the Pro-Tracks. Did a little mock up for reference.

Body is in primer. Just waiting for the tropical storm to pass the east coast so we can get some decent painting weather again. My dehumidifier in the basement decided to crap out on us this week, so it's just too damp and humid everywhere to paint.

Green base is down on the Camaro. Now for lots of patience taping some panels for candy and flake.

Forgot to mention that the cowl hood is from Lex's Scale Modeling if anyone was interested.

I am guessing that you discovered that most of the drag racing action is on FB... & that is why you didn't finish these threads...

My father passed away on 7/19 and I've been overwhelmingly busy taking care of his estate issues. Sorry for the long delay guys. I'll be back at it soon.

There are a ton of slot drag sites on FB, bur most are devoted to buying & selling, with some bragging & discussion thrown in. Wes & Bens is the biggest. there are several solely for no-bar cars too.
