The My Series Summer racing season started in Melbourne at Bill Pinch's raceway (theraceway.biz) on May 14, 2016. This event was the first of four combined race events between My Series and GRRR. At each of these combined events, we are running 4" NASCAR, JK LMP, Can-Am, and F1.  I will be reporting on the flexi car classes for the My Series organization.

 

First up is 4" NASCAR. For Group 1, Mike Bresett was in a class by himself as he took first place honors. Gary Clinton took second, while Ken Green got the last podium position.

 

4" NASCAR Group 2:

 

On the podium is Rollin Isbell first, Joe Dugan second, and David Frerichs third.

 

The second flexi car class is JK LMP. The Group 1 race was won by Danny Zona with Nathan Pickett second and Terry Tawney third.

 

The group 2 race was won by Grant Goerner, followed by Rollin Isbell and Dale King.

The second Summer combined My Series/GRRR series race was run on Marcus's P1 Raceway in Winter Garden.  I believe that we had another record turn out for this event. It seems that slot car racing is making a comeback this year in central Florida. And the competition was the highest that I have ever seen. During the four Summer months we are running My Series 4" NASCAR, My Series JK LMP, GRRR Can-Am, and GRRR F1. I think that we had 77 total entries; 47 for My Series and 30 for GRRR. Here are the race results for the two My Series events.

 

4" NASCAR Group 1: Mike Bresett took this race by 4 laps over track owner Marcus Ramos and 8 laps over home favorite Bob Herzog.

 

The podium was made up of Marcus Ramos (2nd), Mike Bresett (1st), Bob Herzog (3rd).

 

4" NASCAR Group 2: Dale King dominated this race on his home track, winning by 6 laps over Bob Calfee and Tom Hobbs.

 

The podium was made up of Bob Calfee (2nd), Dale King (1st), Tom (I cant stick around) Hobbs.

 

JK LMP Group 1: Danny Zona took a very close race over "too fast" Marcus Ramos and Mike Bresett. Danny's margin of victory was 1/2 lap.

JK LMP Group 2: Dale King came through again in LMP winning by 3 laps over Charley Hurley and Bob Calfee

 

The podium was made up of Charley Harley (2nd), Dale King (1st), and Bob Calfee (3rd)

The Florida My Series racers had our 3rd race of the Summer schedule on July 9, 2016 at Greg Walker's The Race Place in Holly Hill. A picture of this very unique track is shown below.

 

The Summer schedule is hooking up with the GRRR retro racers. The 4" NASCAR and JK LMP car classes are the flexi classes of the combined event.  First to be reported is the 4" NASCAR race. We had 10 entries in Group 1 and 9 entries in Group 2.

The second Flexi car classes was JK LMP. We had 9 entries in Group 1 and 7 entries in Group 2.

The fourth and final Summer combo event was held at Fast Eddies in Pinellas Park, Fl. on 8-13-2016. I believe that we had a record turnout for GRRR Can-Am; 20 cars; very impressive. The two My Series car classes are being covered here.

So, I see an issue here. Since two group 2 drivers raced in the group 1 race and finished with 194 laps, same as Grant in the group 2 race, I really don't know who finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th. I do not have any track position. For now, I will list Jon and Jeff after Grant.
