You know it's paradise when the bar in your hotel is called the Mojito Lounge.

See those big ships out there? They are bringing in cases of Ketel One! Will they be using a Breathalyzer before the race?

If you want a hoot - try going to the French side using the local bus (costs about $2) - also you need to go to the bar where they watch the planes come in. I think they have markets on sat morning on the French side.

I just showed this thread to my wife. She thinks it would great to go there next year. I damn near fell out of my chair! Hell yes I'd go there! Heck, I'm retired, may as well go see the sites. And the Caribbean Retro race would be perfect. Got a whole year to plan this out and get me a car. Outstanding!

I'm still at the Speedway for the SVRA race (camping in the paddock pretty much right behind the pagoda) but just called Jay Guard in St. Maarten, who gleefully gave me the results of the F1 race held today.

After a terrific tussle with both drivers running completely clean until the last heat or so, Jay Guard prevailed over Joe 'Noose' Neumeister.

Don't have any other finishing positions, but will bring over all the final results from Facebook after I get back to Georgia on Monday.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

One must energize up for the next race. It's 5:00 somewhere.

Based on the podium pic George Katzakis posted on Facebook, I'm picking up the hand-amended Can-Am results he also posted. One can only assume there was bit of lap counter trouble in this race. If this info is not correct, will someone please let me know? The best laps on lane info is probably not 100% accurate, but I'm going with what is available to me.

Can-Am results

1) George Katzakis - 354.19 laps, best lap of 3.984 in green
2) Joe 'Noose' Neumeister - 353, 3.970 in white
3) Mike Katz - 351.21, 4.021 in green
4) Bernie Schatz - 351.21, 3.940 in green
5) Ray Lee - 349.15, 3.991 in orange
6) Dennis Samson - 348.09, 3.971 in yellow
7) Mike Kravitz - 344.13, 3.905 in orange
8) Diana Dyckman - 339.13, 4.100 in orange
9) Gary Vogeler - 323.03, 4.250 in purple
10) Adam Chaya - 269.08, 4.088 in green
11) Jay Guard - 259, 3.986 in white

Computer meltdown after 5 of 11 heats. Had to restart race then run the last 6 heats and add up the totals. Too much heat for the electronics!!
