I bought the set of four pliers when I had some spare dollars and thought whoopy great now I can bend some cool turns in my wire and build some cool chassis.
They were disappointing....I was trying to shape 1/16 or .620" wire. The pliers were too light weight and the jaws so soft that they were left with marks and dents.
Back to my linesmans pliers, heavy duty needle nose pliers and bench vice.
I would not recommend the MM plier sets.

So Ron, I'm confused more than usual.
Are you recommending these, or just an infomercial for Micro Mark?

Kevin,
Decent savings and the metal forming pliers work well.

Yeah, they're not great for 063 wire, so save that for the heavy duty pliers. They do work great for all the little hangers and stuff you may need to make from smaller diameter wire. No tool does every job great, but it makes quick and easy work of a lot of the little stuff. At $40, they are useful to have.

How are the pliers on .047" and smaller? What is the limitations of the cutter for piano wire?

I wanted to bring the availability of these tools to the attention of the members here that may require them.
I was going to order a set for myself, but deleted them from my shopping list when I realised that the postage costs were going up through the ceiling

Dennis Samson taught me how to use these pliers. They work excellent for what they are intended for--yes- they won't do .062 wire--but we're not usually bending intricate patterns with .062 and heavier. It's for all those little intricate wires you need for retainers, hangers, hinges etc etc etc. I've had a set for 3 years now and it makes building much easier!!
