This month's Father's Day hardbody races at BPR had a light turnout of racers. Some new cars were built and raced since last month's races.
The mixed race had 10 entries with Jim Lane winning driving his '53 Corvette. Phil Nyland was 2nd driving Gonzo's Sauber Mercedes C9 while Mel Moon finished 3rd driving his Toyota 88C (also built by Gonzo).
The second and final race of the day saw 9 entries in the GTP/NASCAR race. 5 NASCARs against 4 GTPs. The NASCARs prevailed finishing first thru third. Phil Nyland won with Keith Tanaka 2nd and Jim Lane 3rd, all driving NASCARs.
We saw some new cars, Mel Moon raced his new Brad Keselowski Ford Focus NASCAR (SnapTite kit body). Gonzo just built a Porsche 356 and took practice laps but did not race his new small sports car. I included photos of Mel's and Gonzo's new cars in this month's race/photo report.
Thanks to Debby and Jim Watterson (and Eddie) for their support of D3 Hardbody racing at Buena Park Raceway.
