Seven locals showed up to race Jalopy and NasTruck at STR on 7/18/16. Track conditions were quite good and a new total lap record was broken. Racing was close as usual in these two classes with several drivers capable of a win. In the end it came down to consistency and a little bit of luck.

• In a very close NasTruck contest, James pulled off a win with Jack, Bob and Rich for second through fourth respectively. Less than a lap separated the top four
• In Jalopy, Jack set a new total lap record of 88.7 for the win running away from the field. Rich, James and Bob were second through fourth in a tight pack.

NasTruck

The NasTruck contest was very close with the top four finishers within less than a lap. James yellow Ford topped the field finishing with 83.1 laps. Jack, Bob and Rich battled it out for the remaining slots on the podium. Even though Rich ran a very consistent race (95.22%) it was just not enough. Jack was second and Bob was third.
 

Jalopy

Jack broke the total lap record in Jalopy with 88.7 laps easily winning the Jalopy race. The remaining positions were up for grabs and were decided on the final heat. Jack had already completed his rotation and was out of reach of the remaining competitors. James had also completed his rotation finishing with 85.8 laps. Going into the final heat Rich and Bob were tied at 64 laps and had with a good final heat had a chance to knock James off of the podium and that is exactly what happened. Rich 22+ lap heat to beat James, however, Bob fell short. It was Jack, Rich and James for first through third respectively.
