Tamiya Slot Car Bodies

"These are Limited Edition 1/24 scale Body Parts set for slot cars. Originally released in 1966. They are on-sale now while supplies last!"

A few sample pics. The entire range can be found at the link above. These items can be purchased directly from the Tamiya blog, but pricing is all over the board, from $35 to $5.

Funniest part is the cars are not identified, but listed only as Slot Car (P, M, LT, LO, K, L, etc.) Body Parts Set.

Thank very much, Gregory, for the tip.I bought a few Lola T70s and Mclarens for $5 bucks each free shipping. Can't beat that deal.

Now watch sellers flood the eBay market at five to six times the price.

These have been available from various Japanese mail order hobby shops for years now, and at a reasonable price (even when shipping is considered) often comparable to the prices listed above. I do not know the stock status of these items currently. I'm fairly sure that I posted something about them on SB at the time.

Often times better deals can be found by doing a Google (or your favorite search engine) search before placing an order. It is suggested to search for the manufacturer name and the product number. I.E: Tamiya 25122.

I am guessing that the cryptic descriptions are to avoid intellectual property lawyers working for companies that may hold licenses for the original race cars.

BTW Tamiya America shows the Ferrari illustrated in this thread as out of stock/discontinued.

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

The only super deals are on the Lola and the Mclaen ($5 each), all the other slot car bodies were $27-$35 each.

By the way they said the have many hundreds.

I have paid what you paid in the past, that's why I had to buy 10.Now my average price is $8 if I bought 1 for $30 and 10 for $5. see how my twisted logic works.

Be warned folks these are the molds from the motorised series and the mounting posts for the suspension sidewinder chassis cars i.e. King Cobra, Porsche 906 are in the wrong place.
