I would be delighted to have you attend, and Ernie also if he wants, but you'll have to build me a chassis (never could afford one when I raced against you).
Does Ernie still have the controller he used at the Bicentennial race?.

He may not but the museum has one of yours that I got on ePay YEARS ago!

For cheap too if I recall.

Fortunately you aren't quite as famous as Goysky!

The controller I built for Ernie in '76 had red and green lights in the handle that would turn red on braking and green on power and had two large Ford starter solenoid switches in the box that would almost shake the drivers panel when they engaged.

Unfortunately when we stopped racing we gave all our stuff to the kids at BIR to race with. I did find Ernie's old slot box in our warehouse I use. Too bad that clicker controller you made for him that made all the noise and had the lights is no longer around. That was a classic and a pain to have to run next to. LOL.
We did have fun in the old days...

Amen to the fun days.We did have fun in the old days...
Tony, knowing you and if the truth were known, that controller probably ended up on the side of 95 after a race when you couldn't take the noise any longer.
Hope to see you again soon.

Bob, looking at your controller and comparing it to one of Goyskys, there is little visible difference really. The craftsmanship is very similar and the function identical. You have nothing to be ashamed of and the museum, which owns a half dozen of Gorski's beauties including one new in its original box, is proud to own one of yours. That's true, no one built as good as Gorski.

I still have an entire box of original 1971 Stick-It that Joel gave me then... I did not use much of it because I liked to run in other people's leftover glue. It is not even fossilized yet!

If there is a reunion, maybe these could be brought for display as well as the Bob Cotton double-micro controller.

Bob, that makes me sound so... old!Flea, you were pre-Camen but I expect to see you there.
I was still racing when you guys became Camen. I was living in Jersey then. I dug out what I have left from my scratchbuild days... I found a couple of Camen #127 .035" spring steel pieces, still in their packages, plus some various odds and ends.
Unfortunately, most of my slot stuff from back then "disappeared" in a divorce...

Hi John,Hi Bob,
How are you doing dude long time..time to come retro race!
What ever happened to Mitch Kiel?
Good to hear from you. Mitch is a professor at the University of Western Michigan but he's still Mitch (he plans on being at the reunion).
I think I will start racing retro if I can only find a good controller!. Hope to see you soon.
Bob
