Hi Steve,
Because 4" wheel base and 3-1/8'" track works out to be scale for 1/20.
I have CNC my own custom wheels, and cut custom size tires for this build also. I will mock it up with the wheels as soon as I mate the cage and chassis.

Aha. I see it. Not exactly close to me, but we might be able to get together sometime (if you want).
Might be right near the home of the Fools band! LOL.
Do you have your own track?

will you make your own body?

Steve,
Yes I'll carve and make a mold and vacuum form the body parts.
Later though, now I have to get the chassis done and tested see if I'm not just building a pile.
I still have to fabricate the top wing and front wing also.
Buy the time I get done with this car I will have fabricated everything but the motor, axles, bushings, pinion, crown, braid, and guide flag.
To answer your question about if I have a track.. Yes 103' 2 lane track.

really nice. my hat's off to ya.
but wait- you don't cast your own gears on old setscrew hubs and 3D print your flags, turn down some bushings on the lathe, make axles out of drill blanks and weave your own braid?? what's up with that? (just kidding.)
I used to race a lot of the sprints plus cars. not very realistic of course, but we had a lotta fun with 'em. we ran mostly super-16Ds so they'd have a lot more balls than brains.
at the nats in '92 or something, we had to roll our tires on the floor first.
way back when, they were brass & wire cars of course. my club in the 60's ran nine classes, and sprint cars were one of 'em. nowadays, not too many people up here fab their own chassis any more.
all I have now is a small 32 test track for plastic cars on wood. but there's a couple decent tracks up around here to run 'em on.
