Plenty of hot rod ques and inspirations... not to mention styling ideas from the Fink himself... Ed Roth, may he rest in peace! (Love that guy,)
More to come, don't 'cha know...

Looks like the Rat's wearin' Candies on the rear in pic #1 and a bent front axle and something like Pro-Track's in pic #2?
(In pic #2, three of those cars are my FAVORITEST Sprints in the WORLD!)
here is a pix of my Rat Fink, who has been racin' this '27 Model-T hot rod for several years now. Currently he races this rat rod at monthly vintage races here in New Jersey, enjoy!:

The ol'Fink himself looks quite comfortable in there....
Side windows were removed so the big injected rat motor can breath!
The front headlights were cleaned of paint and new vac-formed reflectors added for realism.
A side note is that I, like others, thought that these vintage Dubro bodies were painted in a clear tint and then silver...
NOT the case! These bodies were formed in colored Lexan, Byuterate or Acetate and then painted silver. Very interesting!
Under the sheets we find a Dynamic chassis and K&B Bobcat 36D motor-vation with paintbrush ferrels used as for a duel stinger exhaust!
Some parting notes as the "Fink" drives away....
This project was built with all vintage or repro parts. The decals and engine details were from MPC repop's of Roth trike kits (Thanks to John at Retro Hobby!) The Fink was from a key chain toy... and no more need be said....
Ciao

Every once in a while I will slip some silicones on Mr. Rat Fink and take him for a ride:
It did have Ed Roth's autograph on it, but it faded off!!! I still have the box he autographed.

I am now considering parting-out the "Ride of the Rat" for other projects.

I have a flower power 60's plastic model kit, complete with a decal sheet of funky flower power flowers.....i plan to make that into some type of 60s era slot car madness, maybe another Rat Fink driven hot rod, who knows???!!

It seems like my car has either inspired others to post their "Rat rides" in solidarity of this build or my thread has been completely stolen as a way to show off other builds.... I'm not totally sure as only a couple people commented on this build-up.
I am now considering parting-out the "Ride of the Rat" for other projects.
My apologies!! I think your RF ride is way kool!! I just get excited when I see other RF fans out there!

If anyone cares... I have placed the Rat Fink up for auction.
As of this post, there are two bids and eleven watchers. It will sell and so far barely covering the cost of all the parts. Oh well...

The only thing holding it back is that Dynamic chassis which always seems to hold values down on these vintage type builds. I wish you the best in these hard economic times.

I hope so... however, my plan on this one was as a bolt-together rather than a scratchbuilt car.

Don't worry about the current bid. Usually you won't know what it will sell for until the final seconds. Thanks for sharing it with us and I hope it goes for mucho dinero!

Correction, make that ten watchers. It's bookmarked in my eBay, but unfortunately there's not going to be a bid from myself, as Joe pointed out the price will prolly be greater then my pocketbook will allow.
It's a great build! Just curious how much someone will pay? Or does pay for vintage cars.
In other words, I'm watching it just because it's you! And I'm a BIG fan of your artistic skills.
