Fellas,

The October meeting of the C.A.R.S. Vintage Slot Car Club takes place Thursday October 6th  7:30 PM at THE RACE PLACE in Farmingdale New Jersey.

As in the past, "THINGIES" that go bump in the night will be the main theme for the evening. VIPERS, ASPs, and VAMPIERS will be welcomed as well as many other strange creations built for the slot track.

Fellas,

A light field of "Thingies" made it to the October meeting. However there was no lack of enthusiasm as the regulars at The Race Place were in deep discussion most of the evening.

This time we'll do a review of some of the CLASSIC "thingies" and a pair of BZs and show pics of their chassis as well.

The "BZ" Batmobile has a reproduction body as well as red BAT knock offs and a non original guide shoe, the rest of the car is original 1960's "STUFF" !

The green "ASP" is all original and still gets around the track pretty well despite FIFTY year old tires...braid is NOS (new old stock).

The BZ "Banshee" is a recent rebody of an old build, again using mostly original parts. Many of which were purchased from the original "RACE PLACE" back in the day !

The chassis, shown in the center features a low center of gravity and as a result handles pretty well.

Rodney brought along his "TIGER" racer  from back in the day, it's one of the most colorful in his stable. The Mercedes was one of the if not the quickest car out there last night.

I failed to get a shot of the chassis but it's an inline brass rail chassis built be him recently specifically for club events. The KELLISON GT is a real looker and sports a  really cool wheel/tire combo. The car runs as well as it looks !!!

The Trans-Am car is the photo is another of Rodney's racecars from "back in the day".  We'll be looking into this particular segment of the hobby a bit closer and quite possibly resurrect some of our own old racers.

Joseph Migliaccio. Karma it's a wonderful thing.

"Drive it like you're in it!!!"

"If everything feels under control... you are not going fast enough!"

Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
