I have been told that there is going to be a remake of the Mini Brute. This motor will have the same exact same specs, but tighter controls on the performance spread.
I have been told that this motor has been spec'ed, tested, and (apparently) produced, and is currently on its way to the US. I expect delivery on the dock within 30 days meaning distributors and raceways should have them in 45 days or so.
I threw in the caveat... "I have been told" because I have not personally spoken to the supplier but someone whom I trust has, and the info from him is as stated above.
I do not have any further info about can style (it will be the same size as other FKs) cost, or any other info at this time.
My advice to NorCal racers is do not load up on Lightning 2 (blue motors) at this time. If you absolutely need a motor or two, buy a blue one (remember the gear restriction is now lifted) and hang in there. We should have solid info and maybe even samples by mid-late November.
Advance notice... a new Mini Brute replacement

Jim,
Will these still be under the Slick 7 branding?

Let me see, don't get crazy until you see a product. Hoping that is the message

I hope it works out, but realistically I wouldn't expect them to be any more consistent than any other FK types. Just goes with the territory. Tighter controls in China??

The story I got was tighter controls and a higher cull rate at both ends of the bell curve. That's the story. Realistically, if they are as good as the MB or RH.....I'm good widdat. We'll see when they show up.

That means they're not going to wind them in the dark.

High rent district on the East side of Shenzen then, haha.

The level of automation couldn't be more impressive.
I think everyone can agree that the current crop of FK motors is much better than ones made 10 years ago.
We had Falcon 5's that would speed up, or slow down, each time they hit the wall.
And the old Mini-Brutes had to be tested with the crown gear on each side, to see which way they would run faster.
At the Sano, this past weekend, we had one motor failure, and on the Fiedler Flat, not the King.
The margin of victory on the King, in the 4 main races, was 2, 2, 1, and 1 lap(s).
What more can you ask for in a $12.95 motor?
PS: The 2 and 2 lap spreads in the GTC classes, were done with hand-outs, with the max anyone purchased, being three.
