...and you have one of these:

You take this thing out:

Then you take the rest apart, clean everything up (especially the back of the magnets) and generally straighten stuff, epoxy the magnets back in after soldering-in a nice bearing to the can so it all looks nice...but unassuming like this:

...then you put one of these things in there (*a 39/27)

...finish reassembling to get to this:

Trust me...no one will ever know, and you can just say you did a really good job setting up the car and picking a gear ratio!  ;)

PS...of course, I'm just kidding and these motors are purely for entertainment purposes only!

Nice one. have you tried this with a Hawk7 or Hawk Retro? They're pretty simple to pop the endbell off and would respond well to a blueprint...just for fun of course.

Hi Steve,

Nah. I do take a bunch of them apart for parts... mostly magnets, sometimes cans, but the coms and brushes make them not worth the bother of putting them back together again.

The other thing I worry about is someone getting a hold of one to cheat. I'm sure it would be caught, but it would make me look bad even if I had no intention of supporting that kind of stuff, and I don't!
