This group of assorted Mabuchis is headed to Germany.  Like I've said, the Europeans really do dig their vintage slots.  First step is to assemble the cleanest parts, then clean and strip those, getting ready for paint.  Here, he asked for all bright colors that just seem "right" for the period.  Next up, I'll clean up and do some "stuff" to make the end bells fit for duty.  Then I can build and wind the arms.  They'll all be vintage type winds...#30 and #29, also very "right" for the period.  Say "cheeeeese"!

You get so used to seeing them all beat to heck, it always gives me a chuckle to clean the darned things up.  :)

Did you paint these with the high heat paints? Colors are bright!

Did you paint these with the high heat paints? Colors are bright!

Yes, they are all the VHT Engine Enamel.  The yellow though is two coats, as one coat still shows through a little around the sharp corners.  I've also done an undercoat of white and then the yellow over that.  That *may* have produced a slightly brighter yellow, but I'd have to be looking at both side-by-side to say for sure.
