Now comes standard with a very nice calibration system & ball bearings in the spindle.

For those not familiar with the unit, along with the larger diameter, standard size, sanding drums, the beauty of it is the ease of adjustment.
 
Geary uses two identical size drums to set the initial adjustment.
 
If any fine tuning is needed, to get the left and right sides identical, it's simple. Just loosen the two bolts holding the carriage in place.
 
That carriage pivots on the left.
 
On the right side of the unit, with your tire wrench, you turn the angled set screw in or out, until the unit is perfectly parallel to the rotating drums.

I just tried it with a threaded axle off of an old Dynamic Dyna-flex chassis, euipped car, I bought awhile back.
 
I did the switch over, in literally about 10 seconds, from the Koford 1/8 axle that was in my personal 2 True.
 
The threaded axle measured about .123", compared to .124", for the Koford 1/8", so you can feel a minuscule amount of play.

We've had enough demand for calibration for this unit, that Geary and his machinist friend, have come up with a nice system.
 
It is standard equipment, and the truers are now $400 (with newly added ball bearing spindle)
 

 

You'll have a letter as a reference, and a 1-5, number suffix.

 

If you true in a fairly large diameter range, you'll add a number prefix, corresponding to these height lines (which are much easier to spot in person)

How can I tell if the 2 True  Backtrack Truer is the updated version. Some have a red dial and or gold dial.  I am interested in purchasing.
