Do you guys think an industry standard should be set? Sure would make tire testing on race day easier.

Trim them off and you can flip tires easily and make width.

Most rule sets REQUIRE 0.810" maximum wheel width. Anything narrow can be spacers added to the tube dimension. Rims wider have to be narrowed anyway - and SHOULD be manufacturer defect/carelessness.

Sam,when I change my rear tires to another brand I take one side off at a time and slide the new tire on and check the width so it fits the max width to the guage, then I tighten it on. Then I take the other side off and slide the new tire on and add or remove spacers as needed to met the max width of the guage. If you take both rear tires off at the same time it takes much longer to get it all correct. So far the tracks we have been racing at on the Retro east series is pretty much Kelly retros on all of them except for Port Jeff.Port Jeff is always Thunder medium. I have found that the rim width is not always consistant even on the same brand at times. Always keep in mind that you need to have just a touch of side play in your axles for maximum speed.Just an added side note, never set your guide flag depth or height until you have the proper size rear tires on the chassis. All set up adjustments should be done in the proper sequence......
