How can a guy get his hands on a copy of the first publication? Maybe I can get that by the time the second one is published lol!

John, the first book has been out-of-print at least 10 years. Copies occasionally show up on eBay, sometimes reasonably priced, sometimes not..
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

That 1st PDL book is still listed on eBay for $59.95. The 2nd, supposedly more detailed book, has been back-burnered so long I'll believe it when I see it. My major concern about it is that I probably won't be able to afford a copy on my fixed income, regardless of when it's available.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

I have used the tubular and other dimensional items from Evergreen Products on other models and hobbies. My question is in regards to the brass screw inserts or bosses and the corresponding 4-40 pan head screws.
Are these brass inserts a historic item from the past that needs to be sought out or an item that could be found, per se, at the local big box hardware and/or craft store.....????
I would like to obtain & keep some spares for current & future projects.

I used the earlier non-hypoid chassis. MPC model which a previous owner decided to modify into a short wheelbase dragster. I just glued the screw head onto the trunk so I didn't have to loose sleep over drilling holes in the rare body, still like to find the stock hood. Interior is from the MPC 63 kit . Surprisingly this thing flies and is competitive with the later MPC sidewinders. Now I just need to make a realistic looking box.

In the mid 60s in south Atlanta a very popular race class was hard body stock cars with Dyn-O-Charger running gear under a model kit body. They were out of my price range but Clyde let me run one of his once or twice,
