Hey guys i'm new to Retro and i am trying to cut out a few bodies and the only issue i am having is how much of the Font should i and can i cut off? When you look at results or any type of pictures online you can only find side views of the car. I just want to make sure i am Legal when i go to a race.

OS-601 68 Charger Retro

The picture i have below i assume this is too high and needs to be lower but if you have it any lower the body Curves inward lol?

It would be an easy question to answer if we knew what ruleset you will race under.

If I assumed it was IRRA® and guessed wrong, the info may or may not be correct.

For that body you could have left the small spoiler. In fact the way it is allows too much air under the front.

Here's the rule:

2f. The full bumper must remain intact except for trimming to provide clearance for the guide flag. Bodies such as the O/S Daytona must have the front spoiler left fully intact

In reality, you want to keep air from getting under the body, so trim as little as possible.  I've found with that body that yes, the front will curve under, and yo will need to trim a bit of the valance to clear the guide.  For what it's worth, up here most people run the VFC Charger, with some using the Parma Cyclone or the O/S Torino. Those you don't need to trim for the guide, and you'll want to get the body as low as possible while keeping the lower door line intact, and leave the front valance as full as possible:

Ok cool thanks, i have a much more understanding now and yes i'm sorry i forgot to mention that it is under IRRA rules.

I am currently cutting out OS-650 Dodge Daytona and OS-651 Instead.

Also is that normal that the Front/Rear tires do not clear the Front and rear wheel arches for the OS-650 Dodge, Pretty much like the one in the picture above?

That is correct Jeff. The fronts and rears with many stock car bodies will be "tucked" under the fenders for IRRA rules.

Here is how a VFC Charger looks all mounted.

Bodies cannot be trimmed above the lower door lines.
2c
. Front and rear wheel arches must be cut out and not exceed the molded wheel opening.
2d.
The wheels shall be located in relation to the wheel arches in the body.
2e
. Bodies must be presentably painted and carry at least three racing numbers, one on each
side, and one large number on the roof, as in 1:1 Stock Car practice.

Bodies such as the O/S Daytona must have the front spoiler left fully intact.
