Seems as though they don't just love their vintage racing over there (got a big bunch to do besides these two arms), but it also isn't just about old Mabuchis. This pair of arms (21t/25 on a .500" long stack) is headed over there, and I gua-ran-tee you they ain't going into any Mabuchi!

Now they look very nice indeed. You don't seem to sleep much, John?

Hi Chris...

I was hoping you'd see this ;)  As for sleep, I'm way too busy just trying to survive... who's got time for sleep?   :)

Hi Fred.

Thanks so much, stuff like that means a lot. :D

21t/25, .500" stack, sounds like a recipe for speed!

Artwork as usual!

Thanks, guys. I'm just happy at this point to be among those who can do a decent job hand-winding an arm.

I recently got some pictures from Chris, and the cars for these are way nicer than the arms! Maybe Chris will post some pictures.

As an arm winder, I get a gigantic thrill seeing my stuff wind up in such lovelies, especially since I don't get to see where they go very often.

Yes, Chris, please post some pics!

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Here we are then.

While I was waiting for USPS to deliver my new armatures from John, I painted a couple of bodies over the Christmas break... hope you enjoy them. As always fluoro colours don't work on an iPhone and the pic has been rotated.

Bodies are handling Lolas from Sunset from Oz that are legal here in the UK.

Oh and here's the intended home for arms - chassis pic from its last outing.

Obviously I plundered Slotblog for the design... thank you.

Excellent, Chris... bodies (and drivers) and chassis!

Thanks for sharing.

Chris, how does that chassis you show above handle in spray glue?

I ask only because when that Iso design was popular in the states, it was run in heavy glue. I built and used chassis of this design in the period from 1975-81. On some tracks it handled nicely, on other tracks it was a bear.

I like those Sunset bodies and interiors you painted. I have a few Sunset bodies, different than yours, from when Alpha Products imported some models to the states.

Bill,

The answer is: surprisingly well!

Given the weight (120 grams - over 4 oz!) and power (last time out "just" 26g arms installed) the Iso has superior traction compared to a "conventional" Retro chassis powered by an identical motor and also changes direction very well. The track isn't too demanding by UK club track standards - a 205' Daytona (Engleman plus donut). Pics of the track are to be found here.
