I found my old slot car box from when I raced when I was younger and they had some controller parts in there and was wondering if they still use them.

The Omni was a great controller for the money back in the mid-'90s. I used one for about 10 years with everything from Group 10 to scale cars.
Omni made three versions though I can't remember the specific names.
A motor is only as fast as the chassis it's in.

I still have my Omni controller. I don't use it much anymore.

Hi Eric, I still repair the Omni/Cidex. While I get some parts from electronic houses when I need them, I try to keep a few on hand and can use them. The Flex/Stick kit is a replacement for extrernal resistors. Is the switch 3 or six pins? That (6 pin switch) is a common failure point for unfused omnis. The circuit boards are not made anymore, generally....I have heard of a Brazilian clone of the 'Stick' in production a few years ago.
I Like to use the Omni on OVALS.
