The Florida My Series racing organization held their final race at Pinellas Park, Florida on December 10, 2016. At stake this day were the Endurance and JK Indy Car state championships. For the endurance race, the 3 main teams were present supplemented by 2 local teams. As with the previous races, the endurance race was very close from start to finish. 2 Guys (Doc Dougherty & Marcus Ramos) led the first heat and stayed in front the whole race by a few laps. G-Men (Gary Clinton & Jay Guard) stayed very close the entire race, followed by 2 Stooges (Dennis Demole & Terry Tawney) and Half Fast Racing (Ken Green & Mike Moock). These last two teams had a race long battle for 3rd place and always remained close enough to win if the leading teams had a small problem. For their first race, Hard Luck (Dan & Chris Barnes) did very well and finished 5th.
The endurance podium, left to right:
Gary Clinton, Jay Guard, Marcus Ramos, Doc Dougherty, Dennis Demole, Terry Tawney
JK Indy Car Results:
This race was held on the tri-oval at Pinellas Park. This track is rather tricky and it is very difficult to cut fast times consistently. Two group 2 drivers led the way to first and second. Way to go you guys!
The group 1 podium was Jay Guard, Ken Green, Terry Tawney
The group 2 podium was Don Mathison, Jack Latulip, Denny Neighbor
And finally, I want to thank Don Mathison for helping turn marshal the entire endurance race. He did a great job in the donut race long Thank you Don.
