The American King moved from Texas (Lonnie Getso) to HMS Speedways in Bellevue, OH, is now fully operational. The track went through some minor damage in shipping, and some reworking had to be done.

The first race was held on December 18, and was won by none other than Bud Bartos. with his quick GT1 car

The next race will be this Wednesday as we begin looking at some weekly series on Weds and Sundays, with the goal to begin using all the road courses in the facility. The oval are also ready to go!

Check us out on Facebook and see all the photos of the rebuild and assembly at HMS Speedways & Hobbies.

I'm glad the track found a good home. It was great fun to race on at Lonnie's place in Waxahachie.

Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.

The new King is also shown in the HMS Raceway List ENTRY, as I have already updated it.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

I was going to ask about that one. I'm glad it still exists. That means there are still 5 of these around, the other two belonging to Buzzy in NYC. He has one set up, and the other is in storage. I've heard rumors of a couple being owned by private individuals, but no names.

And post a pic of it in your store! :D

There's one in the Track Directory.

The Route 93 track was awesome after Gerding redid it, they bondo'ed all the seems so it was glass smooth

I raced on that track. More Gerding than American, IMO.

BTW, what was damaged on your track during shipping?

93 just had a really good surface, but the way Tom Thumb is glued now is really good.

The bank overlap/ car catcher was damaged, and a few surface joints. The surface joints were easy to fix, just sanded then down and touched up, the bank overlap is fixed but needs redone eventually to look better
