Just to confirm the obvious James--GT12 and Euro will be on the Flat Track---all others to be run on the King?  Sounds like a lot of FUN!!

James-

Can we have the flat track slots cleaned and vacuumed? I recall a euro race some years ago where there were multiple motor (magnet) failures due to pins and other metal being picked up from the slot and destroying the motor. I plan on running both GT12 and E24, but will not run good euro motors on a bad track. FUN!!!!!

Would be nice to use the PS 4002FK for this race. Use it as a warm-up for the Nats at Frank's. Will be quite a few of us going. It only 14 bucks for the motor and you could get Pro Slot to get us hand-out motors for the race. Would be nice.

It's NOT a USRA race!  We run ISRA rules in Euro---GT 12 will also allow Cahoza setups that USRA has banned.  Group F as it was started at BPR has always run the Retro Hawk and MOST of those racers have a load of those motors!! NO ONE runs the 4002 at BPR---and the Retro Hawk is used in lot's of class's including SCRRA.  Why force the majority to buy new motors for one race?  Doesn't make economic sense! I know Jason has plenty of Retro Hawks too-- :)

It is a USRA Race when we run on the King and that is what this is all about and still the B/S over 14 bucks and would be less if it's a Handout. Quit Talking about ISRA  rules when we are talking about a King race Thanks You

Jason

P.S I went to the Track last weekend a Talked to 6 of 10 the Regulars that race the class and they were all for it

As you KNOW Jason---it's never about buying ONE motor!! Anyone that want's to compete will need to buy 2-3 minimum--so now their buying $40 worth of motors that are only good for one race?  Gee--sounds like a great idea!! Yeah-- a complete new motor program for one class--what fun! :)  Besides, the race organizer has already announced running the Retro Hawk!

See you still not getting the point we had 13 race last year I think of those I would say 9 may go to the Nat's and those people will need Practice motors and with handouts it would be 3 motors 30 bucks and thing still could be changed if people will speak up at the CPC just talk to James

Tim, 2017 Nats are in California this year so I guess 9 racers is do-able.

Tim has a closed mind...he lives in the world of BPR...LOL

and he doesn't even run the class. I had originally planed on running F since I'm coming out to Long Beach that weekend, but because of the motor/rules choice, my fleet of F cars will be staying home

Tim when you do Hand out at the Races the Motors to the Racer are always cheaper R/H so

should be 10$ at the CPC just like these would be  and with this the Track will so buck because we all will have to buy them to race

Jason

Last Time the  Nats were at Franks we had over 20  for the Scale it's close to home so we will go a great time will be had

Ok so the powers that be, decided to allow both the proslot 4002FK motors and jk retro hawk motors. The classes will run together but will have separate podiums. It appears there are more people then we thought wanting to run the proslot motor.

from the 2017 USRA rule book:

WING CAR SPECIFICATIONS
Group F
Grp F is open to any racer not racing Grp 7 type classes.

A. Motors
1. Only the ProSlot 4002FK is allowed.
2. Springs and brushes may be changed. Springs must
be of three--‐coil type from a USRA--‐approved
manufacturer.
3. Motors must remained sealed

and the PS4002FK works better too...

we started off using JKRH motors, but switched over to the PS motors and saw a significant increase in longevity as well as performance...

We dont run USRA rules, as you can see the rules we run are a hybrid Worlds rules. Forrest and I did not know there were more people than we thought of that want to run the proslot motor. With the race 2 months away, we arent going to switch motors on the racers. We will run the 2 classes together and have split podiums.

Looking forward to it. This is the first wing race in many years that doesn't conflict with my 1/1 racing. I plan on running all of them including GT12 and Euro. Can't wait to knock off the dust bunnies and tear up some $#it. By the way... it looks like March 18th will be a long day if we don't start till 9pm.

I have a problem about using a spec tire for the two motor open race. I think that there are so few open wing car racers that anyone should be able to race a legal USRA car with any type of tire. I know that there is no monthly wing car problem at Buena Park Raceway other the class F and with the number of entries today there are serious problems racing without turn marshals.

James And Forest,

Thanks for putting the Western States Championship together.  Thanks for handling the race directing duties in the Group F class, Forest.    I couldn't stay beyond the Group F class races but had a good time. :good:
