Cool.

I don't have any idea on what production Dave Bloom bodies and beat up pink Cukras motors are worth to someone, but I'll take a wild guess the above goes for $400.

Some non-production Dave Bloom bodies HERE.

The Can-Am chassis is pretty bad. The F1 was a style that was in vogue back then for a few months.

The F1 chassis doesn't look that different than the Red Fox ones we raced in 2005.

Regardless, IMO, the chassis really aren't worth anything.

Just the motors and bodies.

The motor really did look correct for a Cukras/Mura second series. I bid twice based only on that. Wish I could have seen a pic of the Cukras sticker tho.

The bodies however... did not look up to Dave Bloom's painting skills. Most notably the Bloom logo.
The chassis were quite pedestrian and poorly stored.

So I bid what I thought they were worth and lost it. No big deal.

The auction ended yesterday. This post was not deleted on Slotblog until hours after the auction had ended.

I moved it out of the eBay section to this one, so a pic of the significant Dave Bloom bodies, and Mura Pink motor, can be preserved.

PS-I also moved Jairus's comment into this thread, before deleting Phil's other thread on this same subject.

No one knows what something like that lot is worth until the bids are in. Two used and damaged Bloom production bodies, two amateur-built chassis, one run-of-the-mill motor and another immensely more valuable if it had not been poorly cared for, plus one wall-decor body and not the best Dave ever painted.

I guess the price paid is not that bad, but I would prefer spending my cash in something in better condition...

I am sure this lot will make whoever got it, happy. Lord, I hope it's not Scott, that would mean I would have to fix those things... :(

So sad - my first racing motor was a pink Cukras.

Mike, there wouldn't have been a second thread if I could have found the original. I searched the forum for "dave bloom" and it didn't come up. Slotblog's search feature sucks. ;)

You didn't find it because it was deleted.

See post #7.

Did you list the original in " The eBay Forum," or was it moved there?

Phil,

Slotblog's search feature works OK. I've successfully used it many times. You didn't find your original thread because I had deleted it. I manually delete any item posted in the Slotblog eBay Forum once the item's auction ends and my time permits. Last night I was watching football on TV & didn't delete this particular auction until several hours after it ended at 9:25 PM.

If anyone sees eBay content on Slotblog or the main eBay site that catches their interest, I suggest they do what I do. That is, copy the pictures of interest and save them to your computer's hard drive as postage stamp size. I've done that with hundreds of photos for a number of years. If hard drive space is tight, buy an 8 GB flash drive. They're only $6-$7 now.

Bill,

Please go read post #8.

Please note that Cheater liked it.

I'll assume that means he endorses the concept of documenting cool stuff on Slotblog.

Sort of like how I posted 10 Strombecker blueprints here, vs not posting them.

Mike, you said you moved it. Searching for Dave Bloom should have found it I would think.

It doesn't matter. I was just explaining why I posted about it again.

FWIW, THIS is what I found when I searched.

Mike, you said you moved it.

I moved it right after I rescued it from the (private) deleted file.

A search wouldn't have found it (while it was still deleted).

Mike,

Good to see you have security to move posts from forum to forum. That's a security I once had, but no longer need. If I still had that security, I could have moved the Bloom auction from the eBay forum.

In the meantime, I have no intention of retaining completed auctions in the Slotblog eBay forum, regardless of content or dollar value.

I will admit my thoughts on this particular Bloom auction more closely mirror PdL's than yours. :)
