Since Larry Shinoda was briefly involved in slot cars, designing a still-revered line of thingie bodies, I though this short Petrolicious piece from 2014 would be of interest to many here. Super-talented guy, there's no doubt about that!

Have you ever seen any info on Larry working for Rupp Manufacturing in Mansfield, OH? Rupp was a manufacturer of go-karts and minibikes throughout the '60s.
 
I am heavily involved in American historical karting and Larry's name has popped up in karting discussions from time to time but I have never found any detailed info on his involvement with karts.

Here's a comprehensive two-part bio of Larry that appeared at the Dean's Garage website in 2009. It only contains a passing mention of Larry being at Rupp, but reading between the lines it seems he was only there a short while or perhaps was employed as an outside designer/consultant, perhaps even while working for GM.

I took a walk down memory lane last night with my pal Rodger Niznik and he showed me some Shinoda thingie bodies he got years ago from The Groove Raceway in Michigan.
