Stock Cars on the King – 12/27/16

Cars in Tech: (minus Dan Savage's car...he was a late entry)

To close out the year a larger than usual field of fourteen retro stock cars competed on MVH’s newly re-braided G7 King and if lap times are any indicator, the cars responded positively to the changes! The last time stock cars ran on the King John Weaver posted the fastest lap time of 5.045 seconds. This week, at least five cars logged fast-lap times under 5 seconds with Dominic Luongo’s 4.66 approaching that of the other wider, shorter and lighter retro classes.

Along with the fastest lap of the evening Dom was also able to record almost a dozen more laps than second place finisher Peter Lentros to take the win. Ray Lee and Bob Hughes were in a close race for the final spot on the podium with Ray prevailing by less than a lap.  Justin Ewell and Dave Panich were in a similarly close race for 5th which ended with Justin 9 sections ahead.  Four laps back Bob “Woody” Hazelwood took 7th with John Luongo trailing by just under a lap.

Finishing order, laps completed, best-lap time and best-lap lane:

            1)      Dominic Luongo        294/16      4.663      OR

Thanks Justin. To anyone else interested I'll will be posting an ad next week in the parts counter that will detail the peices in the kit.

A motor is only as fast as the chassis it's in.
