My name is Terry Dalton and I recently put a five-lane track in my garage for primarily 1/24 hardbody cars. If there are any racers in the Toronto area interested in joining us for racing fun please PM me for more info.

Here's the track:

And some pics of the types of cars we race.

Getting ready for the second season opener on the 15th of September.  Made some changes to the track over the summer and looking forward to some more great racing here.

Looks like a nice place to have fun! The track looks very nice & so do the cars, Speaking of which, could you tell us what the various car classes use for chassis & motors? At times like this, I wish I lived closer to Toronto.

How much are rents per square foot in the Toronto area?

I think looking at this track you can see that if a couple guys want to race slot cars, they will find a way.   If and when most commercial tracks are history,  hobbyists will be able to carry on.    If you have 3 guys that want to race, sharing costs for a track build or even a simple 4 lane plastic setup is all you need to keep racing.   A garage, basement or borrowed attic is all you need.

The type of cars might change to lower power and more scale, but the fun will be the same!

Great looking track and cars.

I remember seeing the original post in January.

What I just noticed this time, is how the track appears to have "soft walls", like a real race track.

Very cool.

Those soft walls work like a charm. I whacked them pretty good a few times and not a mark on the car.

Have been a little tardy in my Slot Blog updates.  We're into the second season here and some great racing has taken place.

Since that pic of the track was posted, we have added lights and some more soft walls other than at the end of the straights. I tested them at the last race where  I unexpectedly walled my car at the end of the main straight, and it survived.

As it relates to classes; The endurance series which runs on Saturdays once a month has 3 classes all running at the same time but scored separately. Sports, GT1, GT2  Sports are basically open with up to falcon 7 motors no weight limit, carbon fibrebodies or hard plastic, allowed; groupc, LMP, GTP etc. GT1 up to 30k nsr evo motors, sedan type bodies, suspension chassis. GT2 rigid chassis and Scale auto motors GT1 and GT2 have weight limits and only hard plastic bodies allowed.

No idea what SF rates are in Toronto, but I'm sure it's large.  It also depends where in the City you are located, its a big place.

Friday night series have 4 classes, all basically adopted from the Series that previously raced at Brant Snow's house.

Modified, Short track, nascar, and sports car.

All hard body classes, open chassis most run falcon 7 or 16d motors.  no minimum weights, .050 clearance 3.25 max width.

Modified class is just about everyone's favourite they are a lot fun.
