I remember reading either here or on OWH when the IRRA® was formed back in 2007 I believe.

The parking lot meeting after the first Sano?

Can someone point me in the direction of that post, if it still available?

I've found some old Retro post from '07. In light of Retro racing today, it's very interesting reading to say the least!

It was during the racing, probably on Saturday.

I remember I was programming in a race, when Greg and Joe came in to notify me of the plan, and informing me I was a member of the five-man BoD.

Too much to do this morning to spend a lot of time searching, but I have been unable so far to locate the original IRRA® announcement post. The original post is probably still here, but for server load reasons the search function doesn't go back that far.

The initial organizational "meeting" for IRRA® was indeed at Sano 1 in 2007, the the gravel parking lot at Chicagoland's former La Grange location, although discussion concerning 'uniting' the various regional Retro racing group under one rule set had been occurring for a good while. Three of the original five BoD member still serve in that capacity.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Bobby,

I don't know why I can't find the "Introducing the IRRA" post here, but HERE's the same post that Noose duplicated over at OWH.

Not the post I was remembering. I guess the one I'm thinking about must have been someone's take on the meeting that was present. Not sure.

I don't even remember seeing this one to be honest, but it is well written and friendly! As most all of the posts concerning the fledgling Retro movement was back in 07.

I especially like the mission statement.

I'm pretty certain the same post was made at Slotblog, Bobby. But I sure can't locate it.
