Anyone know a good program for bodies to use as a mask? I have a new cutter but the clip art is not good for bodies. I am looking for schemes like dirt late models or something similar.

Too many variables - body shapes, window sizes, etc.  Best to draw each with pen for cutter to scan/copy.  Body curves mess up geometry.

At the sign shop we use Flexisign Pro.
The ability to scan and clean up the vector shapes is so much easier than any other program I have so far seen... including Illustrator.

I am very new to the programs. I have only opened up a program 1 time. I just got the vinyl cutter for Christmas which we just celebrated yesterday. I had to call tech support to make my first number.

If the program will take DXF or DWG cad files this is a free program. It is an AutoCad knock off and pretty simple to use for a CAD program.

You could draw the cars main features and then add graphics. That said, this is only a 2d program.

the way I'm doing it is to have a scanner on hand. for specific "to shape" images, I've taken used bodies and cut them up and then sprayed the separate sections flat black. I take each piece and scan them.  I import the images into my cutter program, and use that as a template to work within. this allows me to "color inside the lines" so whatever I either design or copy from clip art fits to the body's shape.

BTW- I use a program that came with my cutter and photoshop elements

I use a manual vinyl cutting program. It consists of an X-acto knife & a pane of window glass. :)
