Trying to put a lot of the darkness behind me (still) so I'm moving back into building frames again, albeit, limited in scope.

This is a pre-production prototype Retro Can-Am. One is in the hands of one racer for evaluation with the second one to be delivered to another soon. (Sorry, don't need anymore 'test drivers.')

'Standard' 4+1=5 configuration.

Seven rails per side of .039" wire.

.032" brass front piece.

R-Geo motor bracket.

Already forgot whose steel guide tongue that is but if Rick makes one I'll be using it.

Pans are .062" but may be subject to change.

Haven't replaced my scale yet so I can't give you a weight.

In fact, some things functional and/or cosmetic may change depending on feedback and ease of building because, due to the interest of one distributor on word I was going to build again (whooooppppeeee….) I want to keep the price low and still make then available to distributers, raceway and racers direct. So there will be no ball bearings, front wheels or threaded axles. You can do that yourself (or form a bond with someone who can).

This, when finalized, will be the only model available for the time begin. Too old to crank out lots and lots like before.

Looking to start building them by the end of the month.

Jim,

That's my guide tongue.

It's designed to be a standalone piece.

I suggest that you use something with about half that amount of offset, or a flat steel tongue with an .032" or .040" brass spacer plate.

Not trying to be over critical.

A lot of guys are pulling for you, so I would like to see you succeed.

Mike,

Never for a nanosecond that I thought that was criticism. That's why it's in the preproduction phase; to get feedback and yours is massively appreciated. I wouldn't have known that if I hadn't posted and given one to an area racer.

This halts the finishing of the other frame to account for what you told me.

Thanks very much!

And thanks for the encouraging words.
