Request: How do you to mark a car's position in order to determine the correct finishing position in case of a tie in lap count?

Answer: In the event of a round-robin or multi-heat race it will be the responsibility of the racer finishing on the white lane to write his name/initials on his white sticker and place it at the front of his car on the side wall of the track. If the racer does not mark the position of his car it will be assumed that it had just passed the lap counter in the case of a tie.

The following three rules have been approved by the FSCS BoD and will take effect immediately.

The maximum width of the chassis may not exceed 3.268" (83mm).

The chassis must not be visible when the assembled car is viewed from above.

The maximum width of the rear tires must not exceed .815".

Although the FSCS BoD has increased the allowed chassis width, it did not increase the track width, which is still required to be 3.250" maximum, as it has been in the past.  If there is a question concerning the width of the chassis itself it will be measured at tech with calipers to verify that it is within the new 83mm (3.268") requirement.

From the FSCS Board of Directors...

As a result of recent significant changes to the supply chain for JK Products the FSCS BoD has decided to continue to allow the use of JK Products due to the fact that all of the JK parts are still widely available through your local slot car shop since distributors still have JK parts for sale. The FSCS BoD realizes that this is in direct conflict to our statement in the General Car Class Guidelines. However, we feel this allowance is for the good of the series in that it doesn't make all presently allowed JK items to be illegal which would most likely be a hardship to many of our members.

As many of you know there have been several issues that have arisen this season and the FSCS BoD has worked to resolve these issues in the best interest of the majority of our racers. With this in mind there will be some needed revisions to the FSCS Rules in 2018 but for now the rules and legal components (with the changes already noted on our forum) are frozen.

After trying what was a very interesting and "ink-worthy" experiment, Tim at JK Products has decided to go back to distributing his products through Eagle, ERI, Crawley et al.  I understand we dealers can still order direct from JK if we choose, but it is not mandatory.  Therefore, JK products remain approved for use under the original FSCS guidelines requiring they be readily available through normal dealer/distributor channels.

Kudos to Tim for trying something that created as much buzz as "New Coke"!
