John,

The only types of motor soldering blocks I know are special flat blocks, usually notched with magnets to hold the chassis down, that are used by wing racers to facilitate quick motor changes during lane breaks.

Is this what you mean, Michael?

Yes, this is what I mean. The blocks that allow you to solder a motor in, specifically; when soldering motors in with the newer style "open hole" chassis designs.

Some now are not notched, but have the tire, and guide areas lowered so everything sits flat and flush.

Dom, your link was dead so I deleted the post.

Michael, check with Scott at PCH Parts Express. He still shows stock in a couple of these blocks, but out of stock on several others.

Also David Liebenthal at Proformace or Doug Bauer at PJ Raceway.

You can use a regular block if you take off the tires so the car sits flat or get something like THIS.

You're probably better off taking the tires off anyway so you don't burn them with the iron.

The only one I found with a quick search is Koford motor installation block - KOF-M360.

Tall motor change block with cut-outs for rear tires.

Wright Way used to have a really nice one made out of a heat resistant material and some very strong magnets to hold the chassis in place.  It also doubled as a tech block, a two-fer.

Well, Thanks, guys.

After a day of research to find what I want, I found that Precision Slot Cars makes a block like this and will install magnets for a little more money.

I think I will get hold of Dave and ask. Dave has nice stuff.

I don't have any of the Precision jigs, but it's all top quality. You won't be disappointed.
