It's fun seeing stuff from this early on , with references and articles, from early legends, like Gene Hustings and Pete Hagenbuch, and touting things like a track with brakes. (Yes, I said Brakes-lol)

Full bodied unlimited cars did not have to have a scale body, so we just used sheet magnesium to cover the area between the rails.

I love this era.
Even Mark Mattei didn't seem to recall, (offhand), the interesting chassis parts from E.E. Crane.

I'm guessing he just didn't recall the fairly generic name, since the stuff made it to the 1966 Auto World Catalog.

Dave, I am currently restoring a Lotus Elite body by Scuderia Scale and I would strongly disagree about the weight, as these thin white styrene bodies are far lighter than just about any 1/24 or 1/25 model kit body I know of...
