There has been no posts for a while, so here's my recent build.

It's a lightweight CanAm Plus, a kind of torsion design.

I use bar keepers friend with a bristle brush, a brillo pad, and hot water. If it was a typical brass retro chassis I use Durosal metal polish.

Built my first ever car a few weeks ago. I have so much more respect for all you guys that make these things look like jewelry.

I used one of Chance Overholts kits. This particular car is for a small flat 4 lane track so I opted to used 0.050 brass with 0.047 rails.

Got to race it for the first time this weekend and it worked great. Won the race and set fastest lap.

I learned so much and now I cant wait to build another!!!

My new F1. All 1/16" brass .055" rails with CR bracket and guide tongue. I intended it to be heavy rather than adding weight after the fact. 112 grams ready to run, no lead.

He has been doing his fine work for many years. I first learned of Akitani through race reports on the J-slot website. That must have been close to 20 years ago.

I found some 1997 & 98 race reports from J-slot, so it's more than 25 years ago.

I have spent some time looking at your 4 chassis posted above. The time thought and craftsmanship in them is amazing.

I look forward to your next chassis, and have no doubt they will be works of art.

All these posts about these rgeo chassis from races has gotten me to redo a short jk25r kit.
Main rails are 047 with 039 angled rails. Has some twist but stiffer front to rear. All the shiny parts are new or changes.
And yes, I shortened the wheel base on it from 4", 3&7/8" I do believe but not sure as the marks have been sanded from the block.... 4667c99c6c553adcf9f5b3232d174f08.jpg

I have this jig, and the line across the back is at 0 position. The front axle appears to be in the 4" position, and since the rear axle tube centers look to be slightly behind the "0" line, I'd say this chassis is a bit more than 4" wheelbase.

No, it is less than 4". Trust me on that. It is at least a 1/16 shorter than my other chassis I build.
The two inner holes next to the pins are for a 4"WB.
