It's a shame. I know they lost the Sanwa radio distributor ship several months ago. They also over the last few years did a "Sharper Image" selling only their own branded R/C cars and parts instead of any of the more popular stuff used by R/C racers.

Their vacated locations might make a good spot for a hobby related shop of some kind. Maybe a left handed harmonica shop.

It will be the lot of most retail stores in the future. The Amazon model is the future, whatever we like it or not...

And the main reason is traffic IMO.

It is more efficent to have one truck deliver products to a 100 people in an area than it is for 100 people to get in their cars to drive to the mall to purchase those same products.

In my area, and I think in many others, gridlock is almost a daily occurence in parts of the city.

I believe one of the key reasons why in the Atlanta area, with 6-10 million people depending on how one defines the Atlanta area, slot car raceways do so poorly financially now is the fact that it is not possible, due largely to traffic, to have decent attendence at weeknight racing programs and their weekend programs suffer from the same issue to perhaps a lesser extent. Raceways in major cities now have to depend on a customer base coming from a much smaller radius around their location than was the case in the past.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap
