Evening all!

I picked up one of these repro Dragster rail kits from R-Geo Rick today (thanks, Rick!) and I had thought one of my Kemtron X-503s would fit it, but appears not.

Here's a shot of the bits:

Do any of you know what motor fits it, perhaps one of them thar Pittmans? And if so, does anyone have an extra one they would sell me?

Thank you for your time!

Pittman 85, Strombecker 85 clone, Ram 850, or the thin lamination 857 - the one I want for mine.

I have the others in cars...

This is all the Pittman dragster horsepower you need. Getting it to fit, well? :sarcastic_hand:

Folks,

If I recall, didn't some of these drag racers utilize Chrysler windshield wiper motors "back in the day"?  :shok: :shok: :shok:

I think on his first run you had to slightly modify the mount holes for Kemtrons.

My (1937) Buick windshield wiper motor fills the Dodge Van body... but that is another restoration project.

As already mentioned, it directly fits the RAM 850/857 , Pittman dc85 etc and Strombecker clone. But it does fit the Kemtron X503 /Mustang/Bronco padlocks :good:

Just have to file the holes out till it fits and cut some of the length off of the mounting legs that are on the rear motor bracket/axle carriers.

Here's my RGeo rail with the Kemtron Bronco motor (same bolt pattern as the X503)

You could always obtain a huge Pittman DC95 monster padlock and modify it  The mounting holes do line up :D

Mike,

There's a Pittman 85A that just came up on E-Bay this morning with an opening bid of $18.99.
