Just heard a while ago that my great friend Jeff Nale lost his fight with cancer today. I am devastated. Jeff was probably the truest friend to me and many other slot racers.

Racing for me will not be the same without him. Sad.

Terribly sad.

I knew Jeff only slightly, but he was a wonderful person and a fabulous racer.

Damn, this week has started so badly...

Jeff was a great friend, a damn good slot car racer, and a great help to others at the track.

Jeff and Wally help me build Slotcars-R- Us "The Track" Raceway from the ground up. We all worked together on building the first King track I had. It was a long and hard adventure but we sure did have a lot of fun doing it. Jeff was there every weekend to help and to see the project through.

He will be missed by everyone in this slot car family.

I will be posting more information about the arrangements when I get them. Please keep his wife and kids in your prayers."

Hendersonville, TN 37075

Visitation will be held at the same location on Friday, Feb 17, from 4-8 PM.

Jeff's obituary will appear tomorrow in the Nashville Tennessean newspaper:

Jeffrey David Nale
1957-2017

59, passed away after a short courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 14, at Hendersonville Medical Center.

The son of the late Lawrence R. and Bobbie Glenn (Hoke) Nale, he was born July 20, 1957 in Clarksburg, WV. Jeff moved to TN where he was raised and educated, graduating from Hendersonville High School. He was a long time employee of Nissan North America, having been hired in 1983 prior to the plant's completion. His beautiful smile and outgoing personality accompanied with his kind, helpful heart was known to all his friends, family, and even strangers.

A devoted husband, father and friend, he was married to his wife of nearly 40 years, Valerie S. (Balfe) Nale on August 12, 1977. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Brittany Nale, Courtney (Jeff) Cassetty and granddaughter, Addie Grace Cassetty; and his brother Larry (Kathy) Nale all from Hendersonville, as well as extended family members and his dog Cooper.

The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. William Liggett, Shelley Ploch and the staff of Tennessee Oncology for their care and support.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 17, from 4-8 PM. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday at 10 AM with entombment at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
