Some of you may know that I have done a couple of papers and presentations about slot car racing at the National Association of Popular Culture Conferences. I’ll be doing a third one this April in San Diego, CA, and could use your help. This time I plan to focus on unique slot car collections, and the people who are doing the collecting. Toward this end, I am planning on contacting Scott Bader, Bernard Sampson, Bryan Warmack, Philippe de Lespinay, Dennis Samson, Christophe Deluy, and Stephen Farr-Jones. It would be much appreciated if you could let me know who else you think I should contact in order to interview them about their collections. I am interested in all scales, but my primary interest is on unique or comprehensive collections, not just people who have lots of cars. Feel free to PM me on this site, or contact me directly here:  eshorer@gmail.com

Thanks much,

Eddie Shorer

Is this for still photo submissions, Eddie?...

All scales?...   Have some N-Gauge Greyhound and city buses...

Run on grey, slotted, single lane tracks...

Faller and Faller made for Aurora Postage Stamp Series...

There are at least 17 different variations of 5 buses...

I only have 4 of them...  Inside the orange rectangle...

Thanks John. Yeah, all scales. I'd like to be able to wow a general audience with a wide-range of slot cars, of all types. I'm wanting to get a general sense of what's out there, first, before I bother people with photo submissions that I might not be using. So I'd want to know about how many pieces are in the collection, age of the pieces, guesstimate of value, what, in the collector's mind makes them especially unique...  that kind of thing. Yours sound pretty unique, I'd say.

Ok...  Cool, Eddie...    There are H.O. guys with more of the buses than me, but are not members

here on SB...   If you wanted to use them, I could contact them to contact you... They would

also be better at quoting values...   Mine are priceless   :D ...  Correct change, only  :laugh2: ...

Sam Ogden in the Virginia Beach area. He started buying up MIB kits 30 years ago, entire rooms in his house have slot cars of all kinds, literally floor to ceiling.

I think he once told me he has a wall hanging made up of 3 lane Strombecker track.

Same goes for Mark Mattei in Chicago - there is a thread or two here about him and his collection, and that may help you contact him.
