Interstate Home Slot Racers (IHSR) is holding the next race date in its 2016/2017 season in Poolesville, Maryland on Saturday, March 25.

Visitors/first timers/interested parties always welcome. Don't have class legal cars? (nobody ever does, at first) No worries, there are always class legal loaners.

The track is located on a farm in west Montgomery County, MD (centrally located for VA, MD, southern PA, and even WVA racers), that is being converted to a combination horse farm and collector car club venue.

This layout, made up of rare 3 lane 1/24 scale track, is the first plastic venue in years.

Track will open for practice and bench racing at 9 am. First of 4 classes starts around 10 am. After 2 classes, we break for lunch, then finish up the last two classes in the afternoon, before everyone is on their way home around 3 pm.

You can see our schedule, rules, pics of past events, and other information here:  www.interstatehomeslotracingclub.yuku.com

In a nutshell, we have an early sports car class, which limits body era, motor rpm, and tire width. A Carrera modern sports car group, that is stock (including tires) except for removing the magnet, and adding weight to taste. Slot It Group C is basically stock, requiring the 21.5 K motor and Slot It brand rubber tires. The modern sports car class is up to 1981, open motor, and sponge tires permitted.

For all classes, magnets, silicones, and tire treatment (aside from lighter fluid, tape, or Scaleauto tire cleaner) are not allowed.

If you've nothing better to do on 3/25 (what's better than racing slot cars?), within driving distance, have an interest then you should come check the club out. We are just serious enough to talk smack during the races, but nobody remembers who won the next day. There's a reason the club's been active since 1995, and it's not because we take this overly serious.
