We are one week away from the Ohio Challenge Cup's first race at Race O Rama in North Baltimore, Ohio. This event marks the first time since 2014 that the Ohio Challenge Cup has raced on the Paperclip, the track which hosted the very first OCC event in 2008.
While owner Karl R. Hoffheins has made alterations to the track since its move from its previous home at J&B in Fremont, all reports are that it is smooth, fast, and ready for some truly frantic competition.
At the final OCC event at J&B, we saw Craig Sharfenberg score the win in GT1B, Ben Naelitz defeat current points leader Kujo Paws Shirey for the win in GT1A, Elmo Guy Vallance picked up a solid win in Group 10, and Shirey added another win to his GTP total.
With all signs pointing to a large turnout among both the strong Western Ohio local contingent and the OCC points season regulars, and with tight points battles particularly in GT1B as Brandon Barricello attempts to run down Jeff Henes, Race O Rama looks ready to be an exciting day for Ohio's Stamped Steel Series!
