Interstate Home Slot Racers' next race day is Saturday, May 13 at a member's home in Rockville, Maryland. Yes, it's the day before Mother's Day. Tell the little lady you're going out shopping for a gift...just be sure to go home with some of those cheap roses you can buy on the side of the road.

Our website seems to be down as I post this, so for more info and the classes/rules email me at tlbrace2008@yahoo.com.  It's likely you've got a couple of cars in your boxes already that are close to 'legal.' The Carrera GT class requires pulling magnets and adding weight to taste. Retain stock tires, gears, motors with no chassis or body mods. SlotIt Group C is similar, but in addition to pulling mags (required) and adding weight you can change gear ratios (using Slotit gears) and you can choose from two different SlotIt compound tires. BUT...we always have class legal/competitive loaner cars and controllers to get new guys started.

Typical race day starts with host opening his home around 8 am. Bench racing/testing/tuning/donuts until 10 am more or less, then the first of the four classes is 'off.' We run two classes, break for pizza lunch, then in the afternoon run the last two classes. Time and interest permitting, at his discretion the host might supply cars for an IROC race to wind things up. Averaging 10 to 13 guys, as we have for our last 3 race days (Abingdon, MD; Poolesville, MD; and Charles Town, WVA) things usually wind up, with folks on their way home, by 3:30 pm or so.

You'll not find a better bunch of guys to race with. We take it serious enough to talk smack while racing, but we forget who wins literally as soon as the dust setlles.
