Roger Alan Vorba
Santa Paula, CA
Roger Alan Vorba, 66,of Santa Paula, CA, passed away on May 1, 2017, in Sylmar, CA. Roger was born in Waterloo, IA, to Joseph and Norma (Handt) Vorba on December 5, 1950. He went to high school at Tama Community School. He went on to enlist into the US Marines. He enjoyed family, fishing, sports, NASCAR, and playing pool. Roger is survived by his wife, Rosa of Santa Paula. Daughters, Julie (Oscar) Santoyo, Susan Vorba, son, Robert Vorba, and step-daughter, Leah. His grandchildren, Robert Paz, Skyler Wilby, Dylan Vorba, Isabella Santoyo, Robert Vorba, Viviana Vorba, and Matthew Vorba. His sisters, Cindy (John) Buresh, and Dale Lee Vorba. His nieces, Jenny (Joe) Weber and Leslie (Zach) Bell, and nephews, Gary Wheeler, Jr. and Kevin Wheeler. He is preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Joseph.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VA Voluntary Service, 2615 E. Clinton Avenue M/S 135, Fresno, CA 93703. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Veteran Affairs.
Roger was a caring father, and a devoted husband. But his greatest attribute was being a loyal friend. Anyone that met him knew you can count on him. It didn't take long for anyone to listen to his experiences and be interested in what he had to say next. He enjoyed many hobbies and strived to be the best at whatever he did. He will be missed by not only his family but by all whom he shared his friendship.
Funeral service will be held in Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 757 E. Main, Ventura on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 12:00 PM with Military Honors to follow.
