I need a manual armature winder ASAP!

My project is coming together within the next few weeks,thanks to all of yas guys,but I still need and armature winder,that's the last item needed to round out the building supplies for the projects kickoff,where to buy?

Hi Bruce,

 

I'm guessing you want the typical hand-crank style winder and clamp(s)?  These really aren't a production item, and to my knowledge haven't been since the LaGanke winders with their excellent anodized clamps.  I think your best bet is to have one machined (*aside from finding one on eBay, where they only rarely come up), and the big part of that is telling whoever does the machining what OD armatures you want it made for.

When I did rewinding I used just my hands then I moved to the next level which was to lay the arm flat in a bench vice with the specific pole elevated above the jaws. Then the delux item arrived the manual hand crank winder...it wasn't much better really or maybe it was the operator?
