June's D3 Hardbody races were held on the second Sunday as Father's day is on the third Sunday this year. A good turn-out of hardbody racers provided a lot of close, fun racing at BPR.

Besides the monthly races, we had a special slot car sale of Craig Gilbert's various slot car stuff. Craig who passed away on May 15 was an avid hardbody builder/racer who was a member of Team Rolling Hills (circa '66-'68). The sale was to help out Craig's wife Jeri by selling as much of his stuff as possible. Thanks to all who bought Craig's stuff.

We had a newcomer this month, James (JR) Ewing. JR races 1/32 cars in the "over the hill" gang races along with Eddie Shorer. James drove a loaner NASCAR (belonging to Mel Moon) and did quite well for his first time ever on the BPR flat track.

The Mixed race had 13 entries and the GTP race had 12.

Thanks to Debby and Jim Watterson (and Eddie) for their support of D3 Hardbody Racing at Buena Park Raceway.

Thanks to our race directors, Victor Dubrowsky and Keith Tanaka.

Our race reports are now located on our new Smugmug website.

The next D3 Hardbody races on Sunday, July 16. Mixed race at noon followed by the GTP/NASCAR race.
A reminder, the next Model Kit Expo will be held July 9 at a new location: 11300 Stanton Ave. Garden Grove, CA 92840. Expo opens at 9 AM, closes at 3 PM. Get there at 9 to get the best selection.

Keith :)

Keith et al,

Thanks for the welcome last Sunday to the D3 group. It was a lot of fun to race with you all.  Sorry for the crashes for anyone who ran into me!

Special thanks to Mel for the use of two of his cars so that I could race and not just watch, as I had planned to do.
