A Slotblog member since 2010, Ocala, FL's Larry Garnger passed away from cancer on June 24.

Larry was a retired police officer and EMT who was heavily involved in home track slot racing in FL. I never met him, but we did communicate via PM and email a few times.

I went to the same High School as Larry in Lansing, MI. A year or two ahead or behind him hard to remember that long ago. Larry was an EMT and police officer and worked and lived in Michigan for a while. We raced often at slot car tracks in Michigan. He was hard to beat and a great builder. He moved back to Lansing, MI, where he also helped out as a crewman on several real oval track racing teams as well as racing slot cars in the area.

I lost track of him when he went south. A couple of years ago we found each other on Facebook.

He will be missed, a true loss to he slot car world, master hardbody builder, another one of the good guys gone.

RIP, my friend.

Never got to meet Larry personally was friends on Facebook and the fact he was from Michigan. Was hoping to meet him when I went down to Florida. Sorry I didn't get a chance.
