I am starting to build a car for the AWRA Vegas race. I have never used the mini brute motor? Anybody with experience with this motor where should I start the gearing for a commercial track?

I have experience racing these motors in 1/24 commercial tracks, Mike.

We used a Final drive ratio of about 3.7

Let me know if that helps. I know your chassis and things will be different.

The recommendation I gave takes that into consideration, Sam.

Mike, my memory wasn't real good. Look at posts 7,8,9 here:

15/34 with .700 gives a FDR of 3.24. That's on 1/24 JK Indy anglewinder chassis on a full size commercial track at 12.5 volts.

Hope that gives you a better starting point.

Pablo

The common gears for the AWRA WOMPS (any track) range from a 9 tooth pinion and a 27-30 tooth crown. I would start with the 29 tooth crown and go from there.
