Hey everyone,
I finished my track and have posted the build on YouTube. Please check it out and let me know what you think.
It is titled Mike Whitley A professional slot car track build. Not that I consider myself a professional but just trying to get some views to the sight. [Admin note: I've embedded Mike's videos in post #15 below.]
Thanks,
Mike

You might not be a professional track builder but that is definitely a pro build.

How are you marking/identifying your lanes?

Very nice, a design that looks challenging but fun.

For marking the lanes I bought three Sharpie oil based paint/peintures. One red one yellow and one white. I just put a big dot next to each lane mainly in the corners where the cars come off. One lane is the black lane so I didn't mark it. Once the monitors get the hang of it, all goes well with out having all the big stripes on the track.

Mike is quite the craftsman using the tools he has at hand. I liked his use of a biscuit jointer to connect track sections. I have a biscuit jointer, but not the room for a track. Not all of Mike's building methods would be suitable for a commercial track, which one would want more mobile, but they seem to fit a home/club track just fine.
Greg, are you close enough to Mike to try running on his track?
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

Yes, indeed. Norcross is roughly 15 miles from Lawrenceville (often called Larry-ville by locals).
I've already send a groveling, begging PM to Mike...

OK, that email address explains a LOT about why your slot car track is so gorgeous. LOL...
Guys, see this link:

But if you want to drfit to thread into this part of Mike's obvious craftsmanship, please start up a thread in Non-Slot Models, Toys, etc.

Don Bryans of Florida, who now builds the Oglivie commercial slot tracks, is a 1:1 boat builder. Boats don't have much of anything straight or square, so I guess knowing how helps in track building, too.
