July 30, 2017. The Tribute/Memorial race for Paul Sterrett and Craig Gilbert was enjoyed by all who attended. Many of Paul's and Craig's friends turned out to participate/observe this special event.

Thanks to all of those who attended including those who participated in the Memorial race. A special thank you to Mike Steube and the Wing racers for attending this special day to remember Paul and Craig.

The Memorial race was not a regular race. We decided to race only cars built by Paul and Craig. The race consisted of 2 min. heats rather than the usual 3 minute heats. The cars would remain on the same lane thruout the race as only the drivers moved from lane to lane each heat. Eighteen racers participated in this unique format yet everyone enjoyed the experience. The emphasis was to not deslot as these cars built by Paul and Craig needed to refrain from any damage during the race. With a minimal of crashes during the race, the race drivers did a great job in keeping the cars in the slot yet had a lot of fun driving eight different cars which they most likely never drove before.

Thanks to Debby and Jim Watterson (and Eddie) for their ongoing support of D3 Hardbody Racing at Buena Park Raceway.
Thanks to our race directors, Hector Gonzalez, Victor Dubrowsky, Jim Lane, and Keith Tanaka.

Here's the race/photo report:  RACE REPORT

Our next D3 Hardbody races on Sunday, August 20. Track opens at 10 AM, mixed race at noon followed by the GTP/NASCAR race.

The 6th Annual D3 Hardbody Nats on Sat/Sun, Oct. 21-22 at BPR. Saturday: 3 C's, WRC, NASCAR, Sunday: Porsche 911/934, GTP.

Thank you for sharing your coverage of this race Keith. Paul and Craig were lucky to have you all as friends and to be remembered such a positive way. Your pictures, video and editorial allowed me share in on this special event. Racers, friends... family.

Keith, is Vic Dubrowsky the same "Vic" that owned Eagle Raceway in Lakewood (I believe)?

Yes, Vic was the owner of Eagle Raceway in Lakewood. He loves to race LMP flexis and D3 Hardbody racing at BPR.

Thanks, Keith.

Man, Eagle really had to be one of my favorite tracks as Vic liked to run a "tight ship." That little Hillclimb he had was a blast.

And your race looked fantastic with such a great turnout.

This was a very special day that honored two of our fellow racers in most appropriate manner. Thanks, Keith, for all of your hard work organizing the event, and for documenting it so thoroughly. It was a fitting tribute.

Damn, I don't race any more. Sometimes I really wish I still raced.
